About Dove

Dove Electronics Ltd is a modern, well respected IT distributor with a long history of commitment to the New Zealand IT channel. Dove distributes the full range of IT products to a broad customer base throughout New Zealand from our three locations. We manage the number of brands we represent to ensure we have full coverage of the product set but also that we deliver competent, motivated and knowledgeable distribution to the dealer community.

Each of our three locations, Auckland (opened 1991), Wellington (1993), and Christchurch (head office) have localised sales, support, administration and warehousing.

  • Dove in the community

In addition to the founding shareholders of Dove being very involved in local community and international aid projects, personally and through the Dove Charitable Trust, Dove as a company has involvement in the following ways:

Donations in lieu of Christmas Gifts

In 2004 Dove reprioritised the spending of money on a large number of small gifts for dealers at Christmas into an annual $20,000 donation to a range of charities. Each year a selection is put on the website for dealers to indicate their preference should they wish to, and the money is allocated according to those “votes”. We aim to provide a cross section of charities from the national well known and “popular” to the lesser known needs of specific local communities. Some of the recipients to date include:

Salvation Army, Child Cancer Research, Women’s Refuge, City Missions, Refugee Resettlement, RNZ Foundation for the Blind, Forest and Bird, The Champion Centre, Urban Youth, Kibera School, Pillars, Hohepa, The Cancer Research Trust.

    World Vision Sponsorship

Since 2007 Dove has partnered with World Vision to provide sponsorships of children in many poverty stricken parts of the world. Dove pays the ongoing child sponsorship for any staff member who wishes to participate. Currently we sponsor 45 children.

  • Locally

Dove as a company and as individuals aim to be caring and supportive of the broader community. The photo is an example of working with a group “project legit” to paint murals on some of our walls to put their “tagging” skills to more productive use.

    As an employer

Dove’s Employment philosophy is to provide a friendly and consultative atmosphere where staff participate as a team in a busy and secure environment.

    Financially Secure

Dove has operated conservatively since its beginnings and accumulated considerable resources over that time. Dove has a paid up capital of $4.5m and has the financial backing and liquidity to support its business now and into the foreseeable future irrespective of channel and industry changes.
